Foreword:
Art
is a pastime for me. Although I did work as a graphic designer, albeit
briefly, I discovered that art is better enjoyed as a hobby. Creativity
comes and goes without much rhyme or reason. I will often go many
months without drawing only to get a spontaneous urge to dust off
my pastels, sharpen my pencils and go through a sudden fit of doodle-mania.
This is the main reason I ventured away from the arts as a profession.
Rather, my professional career has been engineering, so art is frequently
therapy to counter the stereotypical anal-retentiveness of engineers (of
which I am no exception). In essence, this makes me a bit of a walking
oxymoron, although some might contend that the 'oxy' part is not pertinent.
Most
of these images (and I take pride in this) are unaltered in the electronic
state with the exception of color balances and contrast adjustments to
maintain as close of resemblance to the original as possible. However,
through the process of scanning (with my fabulous $69.95 scanner) and compression
of the image files the quality of the pictures is degraded a bit (read:
a lot).
Likewise,
I have omitted much of the flash and glitter offered by Java and Applet
script in order to provide a truer glimpse of that twisted creative hemisphere
of my brain (plus, i am completely illiterate when it comes to programing
with the exception of my rudimentary understanding of HTML).
I have compiled this collection to focus on my doodlings, not electronic
wizardry.
And
now that I have rambled well past any reasonable level of tolerance...
....please
enjoy.
