Sea Fury "Furias"  Pilot: Art Vance

Based out of Paine Field in Everett, WA, "Furias" is the local home-town team that I have followed through much of their pre-race preparations.  I first met owner Bill Rogers shortly after he bought what was then the red and gold racer.  The crew has since endured me nosing around the hanger and sneaking a snap shot or two when I thought no one was looking.  Having followed the team closely through the preparations, and the daily chats with Bill and company during race week, my heart sank when I saw Art pull back into the pits on Sunday as the rest of the pack lifted off for their final laps around the pylons.  A magneto problem had grounded the plane.  While the Silver Class Unlimiteds battled for bragging rights, the "Furias" crew was busy pulling cowlings.
